Beginning Orchestra

The main focus of these classes is to learn the proper fundamentals of playing a string instrument.  Significant time is devoted to posture, instrument position and dexterity.  Students will have a variety of technical exercises to be mastered.  In addition, the class will use standard orchestral repertoire to learn how to play as a group.  Topics to be covered through this music are:  Tone, intonation, rhythm, balance, and dynamics to name a few.  In addition, fundamentals of music theory are a part of the course.
