Orchestra 3,4 is a performance course in which students must audition to be enrolled. Students rehearse and perform music from the standard orchestral repertoire. The students learn to play the music at the highest standard possible. While the repertoire changes each year, it is representative of the major musical periods (Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Twentieth Century). Students will learn the historical context of the piece and relevant information about the composer. In addition, students will study music theory, ear training/sight singing. Also, composition and musical analysis are a part of the course.
