Concert Strings

Students in Concert Strings will continue to develop a strong foundation for playing a traditional string orchestra instrument (violin, viola, cello, bass) in an ensemble setting. Special attention is given to developing more fluid note reading and aural skills, disciplinary literacy, proper posture, tone and intonation. Students at this level will read and perform music at the grade 3-4  level. In addition to standard ensemble repertoire all HS orchestra majors will learn solo repertoire and perform a jury at the end of each semester consisting of Scales, solo and excerpt materials.
